The pre-made sequences, created by literacy experts, will save you time and ensure that the multimedia opportunities of the interactive whiteboard are maximised.

To really optimise learning opportunities for all of your pupils, Igniting Writing includes film stills, photos and text extracts for visual learners; sound track, voiceovers and sound effects ideal for auditory learners; and moving images and animations ideal for kinaesthetic learners.

Igniting Writing CD-ROMs

Designed specifically to engage your pupils and fire up their imaginations in preparation for writing, Journeys and Waterworlds CD-ROMs are two stimulating whiteboard resources for whole-class teaching.

Each CD-ROM contains 12 sequences on linked themes covering a range of non-fiction, fiction and poetry genres.

Including video, photos, sound effects, voice-overs and animations to captivate your whole class and suit all learning styles - visual, auditory and kinaesthetic.

Differentiated texts and activities are provided for each sequence, allowing you to use this resource at two levels – upper and lower KS2.

The sequences provide step-by-step support for pupils’ own writing with modelled texts, analysis of key features and interactive writing skeletons for planning.

Sequences can be added to, or edited, enabling you to create your own bank of tailor-made resources.

Printable Teacher’s Notes for each sequence offer guidance on using the sequences plus suggestions for linked Speaking and Listening activities.

Igniting Writing Pupils Books

Carefully graded pupil books, for years 3 to 6, focus on the core skills and will help pupils develop their ideas and gain confidence in their writing ability.

Providing coverage of a range of text types and genres, including narrative, drama, poetry, recount, instructional, reports, explanatory, persuasive and discursive writing, following the NLS objectives for Teaching English at KS2.

Designed to support the CD-ROMs, Igniting Writing Pupils’ Books offer a skills-based approach to aid pupils in extended writing tasks for fiction, non-fiction and poetry.

Pupil Books can also be used independently of the CD-ROMs as a standalone resource.
