The meaning of European awareness in a widening Europe

Discussion:
Knowledge about European diversity and the European process is a precondition for European awareness. A real awareness can only be the result of communication and exchange of experiences.

Session 2

The role and status of Geography in a widening Europe.

Discussion:
More attention has to be paid to similarities and differences within and between European countries. Geography as a school subject has to play an important role at this.

Geography education ought to play a key-role in educating European citizens.

Discussion:
To achieve this, should there be a common section on Europe in the various Geography curricula in Europe. If so what should it consist of?
