Teaching about People

Geography explores the relationships between people and their natural environment in order to examine the patterns and processes that shape human societies. Geography establishes the context within which students can understand present-day events in order to recognise the impact that decisions (made by governments, organisations, groups and individuals) will have on people and places. So studying Geography is a way of ‘reading the world’ that people inhabit.

These case studies include an animated illustration, ideas for teaching (In the classroom), useful Web sites (Examples) and some thoughts about approaches that might be used (Teaching ideas).
