Teaching about environment

Geography deals with the world in which we live and on which we depend. So it is important to learn about the character and diversity of the world's environments and the processes that influence them; and how they interact. As responsible European citizens young people must understand how the way we behave has implications for the environment, both locally and globally and for others. So teaching about the environment provides a unique bridge between the study of the physical features and the study of societies and cultures. This is essential for understanding and managing the human impact on the pla0net and resulting issues of sustainable development.
